- Financial education – Southern offers courses and one-on-one counseling to help clients learn how to better manage their money and plan for the future.
- Matched savings accounts – Qualifying families can open an Individual Development Account (IDA) or Aspiring Scholars account and have their savings toward education, home ownership, home repair, or business development matched.
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) – Income-qualified taxpayers can have their taxes prepared for free at their local Southern branch, eliminating tax preparation and filing fees and save the taxpayer money.
