Willard RylandBusiness Development Center Participant
Willard Ryland has always loved for his lawn to look well-groomed and has maintained his lawn beyond the typical mowing. His neighbors continued to compliment him on his lawn and asked if he could help them maintain his yard. Willard started providing some lawn services to his immediate neighbors, and began to refer him to others. He decided it might be time to start doing this as a business, so he started Pyramid Lawn Services in 2002, providing year-round lawn care.
The business maintained a steady customer base and quickly outgrew the home-based setting. Willard moved to his current location at 1837 W. Broadway in Forrest City, Arkansas in 2002.
Like his wife Angela, he saw the need to increase his knowledge and skills. The two graduated from Southern Good Faith Fund’s Business Development Center First Step FastTrac training program in 2005, Introduction to Contract training in 2006, and in 2007 the “hands-on” Contracting training to obtain his minority business certifications. When Willard came to the 2007 training, he had already obtained his D&B number from the 2006 training. He was ready to complete the Central Contractor Registry.
Willard has an advantage having his wife’s business in the same location, which reduces his labor cost. It frees up his time to work with his employees on specific projects at various sites.
Pyramid Lawn Services, LLC provides professional and quality year round lawn maintenance and care to residential and commercial customers.
