This year, 146 Phillips County children in need will receive gifts through the generosity of community members and local businesses. The Phillips College Angel Tree project kicked off this week with Christmas trees of hope decorated with blank Wal-Mart gift cards now on display at Wal-Mart and Phillips College. Those who would like to take part may take a blank gift card from the tree and put a donation of any amount (minimum of $5) on the gift card or make a tax deductible donation by writing a check payable to: PC Angel Tree. Gift cards or checks may then be turned in to any member of Wal-Mart management, Phillips College (College Relations Office), Phillips County Chamber of Commerce, or Southern Bancorp on Plaza Street.
