LITTLE ROCK, ARK –  Southern Bancorp is excited to announce the hiring of Paul Flowers as a commercial lender in Clarksdale, Mississippi. A veteran in the banking industry, he has served as both a lender and a branch manager in his 24-year career.

“We are excited to have Paul as part of the Southern team as he comes with a wealth of banking experience and a love for the Clarksdale community,” said Southern Bancorp Regional CEO Jeff Frazier. “As a mission-driven financial institution, we seek out individuals who will go above and beyond the traditional role of a banker and commit to being a wealth builder for everyone.”

A Clarksdale native, Flowers graduated from Delta State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is also a 2002 graduate of the University of Mississippi’s School of Banking. In 2007, he graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

“I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve and uplift my community through this new role at Southern,” said Flowers. “I look forward to providing the residents of Clarksdale with access to affordable and responsible capital as well as financial development services that will help them build wealth.”

Flowers hopes to make new and existing customers feel welcomed and at ease at the branch. Outside of the bank, his time is spent with his 12-year-old son Cooper.
