Joe Black of Newport has been selected to serve a seven year term on the Arkansas Board of Education. Monday will be the first day on the job for Black when the Arkansas Board of Education meets in Little Rock. Black was appointed to the nine-member Education Board by Governor Mike Beebe Friday.
