Washington, DC – Southern Bancorp Community Partners COO Karama Neal served as a panelist at a national conference focused on rural housing. The Future of Rural Communities: Implications for Housing, was hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the USDA-Rural Development.

Neal represented Southern on the Rural Economic Vitality panel, speaking about the CDFI’s role in supporting rural economies,including increasing rural access to capital to encourage responsible home buyers and entrepreneurs – two of Southern’s primary target areas, as well as understanding the unique economic challenges facing rural communities.
