The Arkansas State Highway Commission has awarded about $1.8 million in funding to applicants for Recreational Trails Program projects.
Arkansas Highway and Transportation acting director Scott Bennett says the agency received 38 applications requesting more than $3 million. Thirty-one projects will receive the money.
The largest recipients included $146,075 for Arkansas State Parks; $122,640 for Hendrix College; $100,000 for Southern Bancorp Capital Partners and $89,253 for Southern Arkansas University.
