School Superintendent Alan Lumpkin in September implemented an energy savings contest between Pearl River Central’s five schools, and he told the Pearl River County school board on Monday that final tabulations show the contest saved the school $67,000 on the overall electric bill…In other matters, the board:

— Approved minutes of the May 7 regular session, the May 14 workshop session and the May 14 recess session.

— Approved the salary scales.

— Named Southern Bancorp as the district depository for the next three years.
