Southern Bancorp CEO, Darrin Williams, was recently presented the Supporting Organization of the Year award on behalf of Southern Bancorp for the community development bank’s efforts to support minority business growth.
“We’re honored to receive this award for our work with the minority businesses community,” said Williams. “Southern Bancorp’s mission is to create economic opportunity in the communities we serve, and one of the ways we do that is by supporting entrepreneurs with both training and financing. We’re proud to have served many minority entrepreneurs, and look forward to serving even greater numbers in the future throughout our markets and beyond.”
Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week was designated by President Ronald Reagan in 1983 to celebrate and recognize the outstanding achievements of minority entrepreneurs, as well as individuals and organizations that have demonstrated leadership and commitment in advancing global minority business enterprise.
