City, county officials question results of CCSP survey

County Judge Ron Daniell and Arkadelphia City Manager Jimmy Bolt aren’t sure what to do, they said, about the results of a county-wide survey done as part of the Clark County Strategic Development Plan committee.

Economic Corp. officially formed

Clark County Judge Ron Daniell filed the articles of incorporation Tuesday at the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office to officially create the Economic Development Corp. of Clark County, also known as the EDCCC.

BDC to co-sponsor child care licensing workshop

The Business Development Center, a program of the Southern Good Faith Fund, is co-sponsoring a “child care licensing” workshop. The workshop will be presented by a Department of Health and Human Services licensing specialist and will inform childcare workers of the requirements needed in order to start or expand a home-based or commercial child care business.

City Board asked ‘What can be?’

Members of Arkadelphia’s Board of Directors spent most of the day Saturday meeting in special session to discuss the future of Arkadelphia. Sessions included discussion of the Clark County Strategic Plan and its applications to the city and a discussion of revenues and the allocation of funds.

Horne: Both Ouachita, Henderson will benefit from CCSP

The list of projects in Clark County’s Strategic Plan that will benefit Ouachita Baptist University is “very exciting,” said Dr. Rex Horne, president of Ouachita.

Horne said he was pleased that OBU and Henderson State University partnered with Southern Bancorp and other entities to sponsor the strategic planning process. The 15 months of work have created valid ideas for improvements, he said.
