Glen Jones currently serves as senior advisor to the president at Georgetown University, one of the world’s leading academic and research institutions. He has held a number of positions throughout his student-centered career in higher education, including president, provost, senior associate vice chancellor for academic affairs and research, chief diversity officer, and professor of accounting.
A long-time advocate for strong organizational governance, Jones previously served as vice chair of the board and chair of the governance committee for Baptist Health, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare provider in the state of Arkansas. Additional prior governance experience includes serving as vice chair of the Board of Governors for the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), chair of the NCAA Division II Presidents Council, and member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. Additionally, Jones is a founding officer, past president, and former board member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, the recognized authority on inclusive excellence in higher education.
During Jones’ leadership, Southern Bancorp has experienced unprecedented success in advancing its mission to be wealth builders for everyone in underserved communities throughout the Mid-South, building a world-class senior management team, and growing the size of its operations to exceed $2.5 billion in assets. Jones received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Henderson State University, his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law and his Master of Laws in Taxation degree from the University of Florida College of Law.
